General requirements
No special software or hardware equipment is required to participate in the video appointment. You only need a computer (notebook or desktop) with a camera and broadband Internet access. For optimal sound quality, it is recommended that you use a headset. The video appointment can be opened on any current browser. Unfortunately, participation via smartphone is currently not possible.
During the video identification procedure, you will also be sent a TAN by text message. All participants will therefore need to have a mobile phone with them. In order to facilitate the video identification procedure, you must specify all of the details of the participating persons in this form. You must complete the form beforehand so that it is ready to be uploaded during the meeting.
Advice
With the video identification procedure, biometric data is processed in accordance with Article 4, item 14, 9 Paragraph 2 Letter a of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You will find the corresponding declaration of consent when you start the video identification process.
Please refer to the FAQs at the end of this page.
Start
If you book an appointment for the video identification procedure, the person(s) who booked the appointment will receive an appointment confirmation by e-mail. This e-mail will contain the link to the video appointment. If you click on the link, your default browser will open. Then follow the instructions on the screen. Forward this e-mail to all other persons who also need to attend the video identification procedure. In addition, ensure that all of the necessary persons are present at the video identification appointment (or that there is certified power of attorney). Otherwise, the video identification procedure cannot go ahead.
Caution
If you live in a state that has eIDAS compliant electronic identification, you are obliged to use this for identification. You can find further information about this here.
Tip
Test your audio and video settings in good time before your video appointment.
