The Safety Pin is the coordinated implementation of an Austrian security and defence research program framework consisting of the research funding programs KIRAS (for civil and dual-use applications) and FORTE (for defence research). With the help of international technology transfer, the share of Austrian technology in exports is going to be increased, jobs are going to be created and maintained, and Austria as a business, industrial and tourism location is going to be secured in the long term.
