Cash values, customs value rates and customs payment rates
On the following page you will find a brief explanation of the use of the established cash values, customs value exchange rates and customs payment exchange rates as well as the current exchange rate information.
Cash values
In the case of deposits, withdrawals or settlements of amounts in foreign currency, the official departments (e.g., Austrian representation authorities) have to convert the value into euros using the fixed cash value.
The cash values are announced both in the "Amtsblatt zur Wiener Zeitung" and in the Findok. In principle, the total cash values are calculated on the 1st January and 1st July of each year, but updates are necessary due to ongoing price observations.
Customs value rates
When determining the customs value, values in foreign currencies are often given. In these cases, the value is to be converted into domestic currency using the established customs value rate.
For those currencies for which no customs value rate is set, the respective cash value of the currency concerned is decisive.
For the most up-to-date conversion rates please check the German version of this webpage.
Customs payment exchange rates
The current customs payment rates are published monthly in Findok.
